When a dog barks at the moon, then it is religion; but when he barks at strangers, it is patriotism! ~David Starr Jordan

While waiting for Megan

I passed the time reading and riding ridiculous distances on my bike. Mom passed the time catching up on the soaps and nibbling on Triscuits.

One of my other things to do now is to aid where I can with the tornado recovery. In April, we had been subjected to the super cell out break that ripped trough the Upper South and the Mid West. My favorite cause had become the reforestation of the city parks that were the crown jewel of the City of Louisville. The organization was Trees Inc. It was the brain child of activism that had survived the crunch of the Nixon election and Watergate. We had great Tee-shirts and we planted a lot of trees and drank a lot of beer.

President Nixon had resigned in August and now Gerald Ford was unraveling the tapestry that was the Viet Nam War.

Showers. Yes baby showers. It was a second round but it was much subdued from the previous year. There is only so much stuff one baby needs.

October wears on. It is very pleasant. The long weekend rides with the Louisville Wheelmen are always best in October.
